Fate of Tamil Tiger leader unknown

Two senior Tamil Tiger members who surrendered to the Sri Lankan government troops have made a televised denunciation of the rebels in a major propaganda coup for the island's authorities.
But in what appears to be the dying days of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam the fate of their reclusive leader Prabhakaran Velupillai still remains unclear.
While the Sri Lankan armed forces say they're close to defeating the remnants of the Tigers, now confined to a small area in the far north east of the country, their leader has undoubtedly defined the aspirations of the Tamils.
