Pregnant British woman avoids Laotian firing squad

A pregnant British woman narrowly avoided facing Lao's firing squad.
20 year old Samantha Orobator was arrested in August last year for the possession of 680 grams of heroin. While a prisoner awaiting trial in Phonthong Prison in Vientiane, Samantha became pregnant under unknown circumstances.
Legal campaign group Reprieve says she has been denied a fair trial, and they are worried for the physical and mental wellbeing of both mother and child.
