New policy begins with high level US-Burma talks

The United States says it will send a rare mission to Burma in the coming weeks.
Kurt Campbell, the US assistant secretary of state for East Asia, says the trip would follow up on his talks last month with a senior Burmese official in New York - the highest-level US contact with the military regime in nearly a decade. In a statement to the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Kurt Campbell repeated Hillary Clinton's warning earlier this year that US policy towards Burma was not working.
