Santos exits Lapindo but locals still angry

Australian oil and gas exploration company Santos has announced it's transferring its 18 per cent interest in the Brantas production sharing contract to a company tied to the contract operator, Lapindo Brantas.

The move is the latest in a string of handovers and transfers designed to to extricate itself from any potential future penalties for a mud flow disaster began in 2006 overwhelming villages and displacing over 30-thousand people.
