Pro Thaksin forces to pressure new Thai govt
Updated
Thai Democrats leader Abhisit Vejajiva is Thailand's new Prime Minister after beating former police chief Pracha Promnok by 235 votes to 198.
But the question is how long he can hold on to the top job. Khun Abhisit led the Democrats as the main opposition before the constitutional court dissolved a three-party coalition government earlier this month. Since then, the Democrats have won over several parties and factions once loyal to ousted Prime Minister Thaksin Shiniwatra. But now that Abhisit Vejajiva has the job -- the question is whether it heralds the end of Thailand's political crisis - or a mere break before the convulsions resume.
