As the global financial crisis spreads, workers are being laid off, and retrenchments are becoming a harsh reality for many.

In Australia, many people are also watching the value of their assets diminish. But whether it's sudden unemployment or money woes, the experience may be a nightmarish one for many. That's why Australia's national depression initiative Beyond Blue has published a booklet about how to look after your mental health, in the time of economic downturn.

For more information on depression in more than 40 languages, including Khmer, Vietnamese, Chinese, Indonesian, Thai and Lao during financial tough times, the website is www.beyondblue.org.au
