Singapore wants to take lead on sustainable development

Last week Singapore's government earmarked $1 billion Singapore dollars for sustainable development.

Singapore has been a leader in sustainable development in the region, and the funding is a boost for environmental practices. But experts are saying that it is crucial that the funding is accompanied by development of local expertise and cultural awareness.
