Islamic conference promotes equity and justice for women

More than 250 Muslim scholars from 47 countries are in meeting in Malaysia to demand for equality and justice in the Muslim family through laws and public policy.

The Musawah conference, named after the Arabic word for "equality", is discussing why equity and justice for women are possible within Islam.
