Nothing can salvage Taro Aso's Prime Ministership: Comentator
Updated
Japan's government is under renewed pressure, following the resignation of Finance Minister Shoichi Nakagawa.
The resignation followed an incident at a key international conference in Rome, when Mr Nakagawa appeared to be dozy and drunk while fielding reporters' questions. His resignation deals another blow to the already-battered administration of Prime Minister Taro Aso, who's governing with the support of a junior coalition partner. With Lower House elections looming in October, it's a government crisis Japan does not need, as it experiences one of its worst recessions.
