Vietnam's first oil refinery begins production

Vietnam's first oil refinery begins its first week of production today, following its highly celebrated opening on Sunday .
After a decade of delays, the refinery's launch has been hailed as a significant moment in the country's development. Although Vietnam has considerable offshore oil reserves, it currently has to import all its petroleum products, costing hundreds of millions of dollars -- a figure rising as energy consumption soars.
