UN drug strategy ignores harm minimisation

After months of high-level negotiations, the United Nations peak-body for drug control says it's formulated a new plan to curb the international scourge of drugs.
Last night, the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs agreed on a policy which it says will not only deal with drug trafficking but also help users overcome their addictions. But an alliance led by drug abuse experts and humanitarian organisations says the new strategy is just more of the same failed policies of the past decade.
