Vietnam shoots up rankings for outsourcing

A report on offshore industries has ranked Vietnam as among the top ten nations for outsourcing.

Global Consultants AT Kearney evaluated 50 countries and ranked them based on contributing factors that promote offshore sectors. Vietnam has climbed nine spots, its rise attributed to a recent IT boom, led by the of a Russian IT centre in Ho Chi Minh City, specifically targetting outsourcing. Vietnam's rise in the outsourcing ratings could bring about change in the nation, once known for its rice, coffee and rubber exports.
