Questions over legitimacy of Iran election
Updated
Iran's Opposition is demanding that the results of weekend elections be scrapped.
Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has defended his re-election at a victory rally but his chief rival has claimed the results were rigged. And Western nations are also questioning the validity of the Iranian election result. The US Vice President Joe Biden says he has "doubts" about the legitimacy of the vote and criticised the crackdown on protestors in Iran. The United States has said it has no intention of abandoning its efforts to try to engage Iran, as it tries to stop the hardline nation from acquiring nuclear weapons.
