China's 'Dragon 600' plane will boost surveillance

China has approved the development and production of the world's largest amphibious aircraft, to be called the 'Dragon 600'.
China's Xinhua news agency reports the Dragon 600, will be as large as an Airbus-320, and can be used for tasks such as emergency rescue and fighting forest fires. But security observers say the aircraft can also be used for surveillance, particularly in the South China Sea.
