US withdraws from Iraqi towns

Today American forces hand over control of towns and cities to Iraqi security authorities.
Since 2003, US soldiers in their Humvees and tanks have been a fixture on the streets of Iraq, but now their visible presence will be reduced.
However, US forces will remain on hand - just in case things go wrong.
