Australian minister in Malaysia to talk about people smuggling

Australia and Malaysia have held talks in Kuala Lumpur on ways to reduce people smuggling and improve border control.

It's estimated that as many as 10,000 undocumented asylum seekers - from Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Burma and Iraq - could be in Malaysia, hoping to enter Australia. Australia's prime minister Kevin Rudd and foreign minister Stephen Smith, held talks with their Malaysian counterparts - Najib Razak and Anifah Aman.

Afterwards, Mr Smith spoke to Jim Middleton.
