Australian town set to outlaw bottled water
Updated
A town on the east coast of Australia is set to be the first place in the world to ban the sale of water in plastic bottles.
While convenient and marketed to be healthy, it takes two litres of water to manufacture one litre of bottled water, and the plastic bottles often end up in rivers, oceans and landfill. Bundanoon's taken the dramatic step because of anger at a proposal to source supplies for the $AUD500 million a year industry from the local environment.
