Vietnamese methodone trial to be expanded

A clinical trial of methadone for Vietnam's heroin addicts has shown positive results.
Methadone is a replacement drug taken orally that gradually replaces heroin addiction, and the first major review of the program has been encouraging.
The Health Ministry started trials in six clinics early last year and has recently pledged to open two more rehabilitation centres in the city.
