Economic crisis effects people smugglers and remittances

There are signs that the biggest casualties of the global financial crisis may be migrant workers who are being sent home from America and Europe.
For nations which rely heavily on the remittances - such as Indonesia, the Phillippines and Bangladesh - that means less money coming in and more mouths to feed. The global recession is also affecting people-smugglers.
