Prayers and panic during solar eclipse in India

The longest solar eclipse of the 21st century plunged millions across Asia from India to China into temporary darkness yesterday.

It also sparked a flurry of scientific activity, as well as religious fervour. A stampede in the Indian holy city of Varanasi left one woman dead and more than 20 people injured.
