The Australian town of Cairns is vying for a share of the lucrative cosmetic surgery tourism sector.
For some time now, many Australians have opted to combine cheaper surgery overseas with a holiday, in places such as Thailand and to a lesser extent, Singapore. Now, Cairns is promoting itself as a destination for US soldiers and their families living on Guam, who are interested in plastic surgery or IVF proceedures.
