Human impact causing extinctions in Pacific region

Mass extinctions are on the cards in the Oceania region unless there are radical changes in environmental policy.

The warning comes with the release of a scientific review of conservation challenges across the region that takes in Australia and the Pacific Islands. Some biologists are calling it the planet's sixth major extinction event and the research shows that our region is particularly vulnerable.
