Nation divided over Pakistan military anti-Taliban offensive

The Pakistani military's offensive in south Waziristan has divided public opinion in the nation. Together with rising tension and security uncertainties, this has presented huge challenges to the civilian government.
Insurgents are on a campaign of suicide bombings and commando-style attacks. A range of assaults over a two-week period has claimed about 180 lives, underlining the scale of the insurgency.
