Vigil for separated twins

Updated November 19, 2009 13:36:42

Surgeons at Melbourne's Royal Children's hospital will deliver an update this afternoon on the progress of twins, Krishna and Trishna, who were joined at the head, until an operation separated them this week.

Brain scans were done yesterday to determine the success of the surgery but their guardian, Moira Kelly, says the real test will be how the toddlers greet her when they wake up. Ms Kelly says the effort to save the orphans shows what good can be done when hospital beds are put aside for people from overseas.

Speakers: Moira Kelly, Children First Foundation
