Bing criticised for China search results

A Microsoft search engine is at the centre of a new controversy over Internet censorship of sites about issues sensitive to China.

The Bing search engine has been accused of turning up censored results in countries around the world when users search for subjects such as Tiananmen Square, and Falun Gong using simplified Chinese characters. Microsoft says it's a glitch in the system, but influential New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof believes the company is censoring results to protect it's business interests in China, and is calling for a boycott of Bing.
