Cambodia joins queue for nuclear power

The Cambodian ministry of industry, mines and energy has confirmed that scientists are studying nuclear technology as a means of addressing the country's chronic power shortages.
Cambodia joins a queue of Southeast Asian nations that want to go nuclear. It's a month after Vietnam called on fellow ASEAN members to consider using nuclear power as a way of meeting rising energy needs, fuelling economic growth and combating climate change. But some worry that the region's developing nations lack the capacity to manage the safety risks.
