A second round of voting in Kiribati has completed its new Parliament, but the fate of the presidency remains unclear.

Electoral commissioner, Rine Ueara, says it is not yet clear who will control the government as a number of new MPs have not shown their allegiance.

Lawmakers will make nominations for president at the first sitting of the new parliament next month, with a final vote in October.

It remains unclear if incumbent leader, Anote Tong will be returned as president.
