Australia has sealed its fifth Champions Trophy hockey title in a row with a 2-1 victory over the Netherlands in golden goal extra time.

Kookaburras star Kieran Govers scored the winning goal with two minutes left in the extra period after the two sides were inseparable at 1-1 after regulation time in Melbourne.

The Netherlands got on the board early off the first penalty corner of the game, when Sander Baart found the back of the goal.

But Australia hit back through Russell Ford to lock things up before half-time. Earlier Pakistan beat India 3-2 in the bronze medal play-off. Australia beat India on Saturday.
