Indonesian prosecutors have demanded jail time for another member of the president's ruling party in a high-profile graft case.

Indonesian prosecutors have demanded jail time for another government MP, as a multi-million dollar investigation embroils more members of the president's ruling party.

Angelina Sondakh, a former beauty queen and model, is facing a possible 12 years in jail.

Prosecutors are demanding Ms Sondakh pay back $US3.5 million ($35 billion Indonesian rupiah) in alleged bribes.

The former treasurer of the president's ruling Democrat Party, Muhammad Nazaruddin, has already been jailed after fleeing the country in May 2011.

Investigators linked him to the bribery scandal and was returned to Indonesia from Colombia, South America.

Mr Nazaruddin alleges the party chairman was also involved in corruption.

Two weeks ago, a government minister was forced to step aside after being named as a suspect.
