Bomb blasts in two Pakistani cities have killed 32 people and injured more than 100.

Bomb blasts in two Pakistani cities have killed 32 people and injured more than 100.

Police say a bomb in Quetta, the capital of the eastern province of Baluchistan, killed 11 people and injured more than 40.

It targeted a police patrol driving through a street market killing three police, vegetable vendors and second-hand clothes dealers.

The United Baluch Army claimed responsibility for the blast.

The group is one of several fighting for independence for Baluchistan.

In the northwestern province of Swat, 21 people were killed and more than 60 injured in a bombing.

The target was a group of people who had gathered to hear a religious leader speak in Mingora, Swat's largest city.

Police initially said the blast was caused by an exploding gas cylinder but later confirmed it was a bomb.

The death toll from both blasts is expected to rise.
