Rain ended day two early, but not before Mitchell Johnson helped reduce South Africa to 6 for 140 at stumps.

Mitchell Johnson continued his fine Ashes form against South Africa, taking four wickets to reduce South Africa to 6 for 140 at stumps on day two in Centurion.

Johnson took 4-51 as he skittled the Proteas' top order, as well as taking a blinding catch off Nathan Lyon's bowling to remove JP Duminy.

South Africa finished day two 257 runs behind Australia, after the tourists were dismissed for 397 all out, with Shaun Marsh (148) and Steve Smith (100) adding a few runs to their overnight totals.
