ASEAN Rickshaw Runners hampered by tuk tuk troubles

Updated 28 February 2012, 18:15 AEDT

Connect Asia catches up with one of the teams in the ASEAN Rickshaw Run - a charity race across Southeast Asia on the tuk tuk, a kind of motorised rickshaw.

Twenty-eight teams from 12 countries took off from Jakarta on the 16th of this month and are expected to reach the finish line this weekend.

Tom Hoogervorst, from Team Project Southeast Asia Oxford, says the biggest concern so far has been the numerous breakdowns of their rickshaw.

He says the finish line has been moved from Bangkok to Krabi due to severe flooding in parts of the Thai capital.
