A new report says the Asian American and Pacific Islander community in the United States is not reaching its full potential in university completion.

It says these communities are vital to ensuring economic sustainability in the U-S but are often overlooked by policy makers.

The report was released by the National Commission on Asian American and Pacific Islander Research in Education.

Robert Teranishi is an associate professor at New York University's Steinhardt School and is the lead investigator of the study.
