Australian tourism operators call for changes to backpacker visas

The Australian Tourism Export Council wants the Government to allow backpackers on working holiday visas to extend their stay by a year, if they spend three months working in tourism in regional Australia.

The council says there are thousands of vacancies in the tourism sector, and visa changes could help to fill them.

But not everyone's convinced it's a good idea.
