Two Australians are being sent to Bangladesh to teach slum dwellers how to blog.

Joel Katz, an English teacher and Sharna Bremner, a university student, will be based in the capital Dhaka, where they will teach youths living in poverty how to use social media, including blogs, Facebook and Twitter. The money for the two week project was raised by donations from the Australian social media community, and it is being organised by the anti-poverty agency ActionAid Australia. One of the bloggers, Sharna Bremner, acknowledges that going to Dhaka is going to be a challenging experience.
