Lao women's groups tackle trafficking, violence

Laos is one of the region's poorest nations and more than half its agricultural workers are women.

The World Bank says their work is neither visible nor valued, thanks to a low level of gender awareness.

But gender equality is enshrined in the Lao constitution and the Lao Women's Union has been advocating for women's rights since 1955.
