Long-serving Australian MP quits portfolio

In Australia, the Federal Minister for Tertiary Education, Skills and Workplace Relations, Senator Chris Evans is set to quit his portfolio.

Senator Evans is third Government MP to step down in recent weeks, following the ousting of Northern Territory Senator Trish Crossin and the announcement by former Attorney General Robert McClelland that he won't contest the September election.
