Poetry can be deeply personal, decidedly political, or a myriad of things in between.  For readers, it can stir up our emotions, spur us to action, or simply take us to a place we've never been to before.

But what inspires the writer?  On World Poetry Day, Heather Jarvis speaks with Marshallese poet, writer, journalist and blogger, Kathy Jetnil-Kijiner, whose poetry reflects her culture, her country, and her own personal experiences.

Presenter:  Heather Jarvis

Speaker:  Kathy Jetnil-Kijiner:  poet, writer, journalist who also writes the blog Iep Jaltok
