Papua New Guinea's Trade Union Congress is urging Prime Minister Sir Mekere Morauta to sack Foreign Affairs Minister John Waiko over his involvement in reviewing the deportation order of a Chinese businessman.

The controversial businessman, Philip John Lee, fraudulently obtained three Papua New Guinea passports and was found guilty of violating PNG immigration laws last year. Dr Waiko has since acknowledged his association with Mr Lee during question time in Parliament. Vice president of the PNG Trades Union Congress, Andrew Kandekasi, told Caroline Tiriman Dr Waiko should now be asked to step aside.
