A new primary school program in Melbourne's western suburbs will celebrate the role sport can play in bonding a community.

Launched at the Mother of God Primary School in Ardeer, the program promotes the richness of multiculturalism and how cultural diversity adds value and enhances communities in Australia.

The We Are Australia Sport Festival will visit a school for a day bringing elite sportsmen and women to inspire and encourage the young children.

Delivered by SportWest and supported by Cricket Australia and the Western Bulldogs AFL club, the program will also celebrate food and culture through art competitions and shared lunches.

Presenter: Nadia Hume

Speakers: Akat Mayoum, Australia’s first Sudanese born A-grade turf cricketer; Waddington Mnayenga, former Zimbabwean cricketer; Tim Burke, SportWest Program Manager
