Melbourne based, African born Hip Hop duo Diafrix deliver their second studio album ‘Pocket Full of Dreams’

DJ Momo is originally from the Comoros Islands, off the south-east coast of Africa and Azmarino from war torn Eritrea, the two met while taking part in a community arts program in the Melbourne western suburb of Footscray and their connection was immediate.

With a shared understanding of African culture, and what it means to be a stranger in a new land, their similarities extended to their musical tastes and Diafrix was born.

Their debut album ‘Concrete Jungle’ was released in 2009 to critical acclaim cementing their position as one of Australia’s most exciting and fresh hip hop acts. Not wanting to repeat themselves, their new recording ‘Pocket Full of Dreams’ had to be different.

So mixing styles and collaborations, the two have produced an album that continues to tell their stories of life as the know it, raw and honest.

‘Pocket Full of Dreams’ is our album of the week.
