The story of Starlady Nungari - transgender hairdresser, youth-worker and desert style icon - is an extraordinary one, by any standard.

Starlady Nungari runs hairdressing workshops with indigenous teenagers in Australia's Northern Territory.

She now also features in a new half-hour documentary, 'Starlady - Queen of the Desert', which premieres on ABC televison on Sunday night.
