India's Hijras 'gifted by God'

India's transgender community is suffering high rates of HIV, and activists say the problem is compounded by ongoing discrimination and poor government regulation in a country that remains responsible for more than half of the region's AIDS-related deaths.

The story of the nation's Hijra community is among those being told at the AIDS2014 conference in Melbourne.
