Philippines prepares for first major storm of season

The northeastern Philippines is bracing for its first major storm of the rainy season, with thousands of people preparing to evacuate from coastal areas.

Typhoon Rammasun is expected to hit later today, and to bring heavy rain to Manila and other northern regions.
