Salvation Army calls for answers on processing delay

The Salvation Army says there's still been no indication as to precisely when the processing of asylum seekers already dispatched to Nauru by Australia will begin.

Some are on a hunger strike, and there have been several peaceful protests by the asylum seekers at what they regard as their indefinite detention.

A spokesman for Australia's Immigration Minister says processing may be six months or more away yet, and the Salvation Army's Paul Moulds says the uncertainty is having a damaging impact on the asylum seekers' behaviour.
