Spreading the safe sex message in conservative Bangladesh

A local NGO in Bangladesh says its programme to integrate HIV and AIDS education into school curriculums is making big strides.

PIACT Bangladesh advocates for marginalised groups dealing with HIV issues.

Since 2007, the group has penciled HIV and AIDS into the textbooks of secondary schools across Bangladesh.

And while the programme has confronted opposition at all levels, PIACT says it's now shifting how young people perceive what is a very sensitive cultural issue.
