US equipment giant Caterpillar learns tough lesson in China

The experience of a large foreign investor in China could serve as a cautionary tale for other companies considering entering the Chinese market.

The US equipment giant Caterpilla has been forced to write down its latest investment by almost 90 per cent.

Caterpilla has sacked the senior management and has launched an investigation into its new acquisition.
