Vanuatu meeting to seek a unified West Papuan voice

Preparations are under way in Vanuatu for a major reconciliation conference bringing together rival groups from the Papua region of Indonesia.

The Vanuatu-based Melanesian Spearhead Group --which also includes Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Fiji -- recently rejected a membership bid by the West Papua National Coalition for Liberation, saying it was not representative enough.
