Australia aims to have best expertise on SE Asia

With almost 200 academics linked to the region, Sydney University can claim to have one of the highest concentrations of Southeast Asian experts in the world.

The university has just launched its new Southeast Asia Centre which brings together expertise in health, environmental management, the arts, politics and much more.

It will lead to more connections between Australia and its near neighbours as the government pursues its goal of closer Asian engagement.
