Updated 5 February 2013, 15:36 AEDT

Australia's new ministerial line up is being sworn in at Government House in Canberra after the resignations of key cabinet ministers Nicola Roxon and Chris Evans triggered a weekend cabinet reshuffle.

Mark Dreyfus will replace Ms Roxon as attorney-general.

Outgoing Immigration Minister Chris Bowen will take on Senator Evans' position as the Minister for Tertiary Education, Skills, Science and Research.

The man named to take over the challenging immigration portfolio is Brendan O'Connor.

In total, there will be nine new ministers and parliamentary secretaries.
